Recovery Coaching
Recovery Education and Consulting is now offering Recovery Coaching services.
Recovery Coaching is available for anyone looking to move toward a healthier way of living.
Recovery Coaching with REC begins with a meeting to determine if we are likely to work well together. Once we begin our journey together, we will focus on six different stages.
Stage 1: Explore exactly what you want to achieve on your recovery journey. Develop the definition of recovery for you. Your goals and your definition are crucial in determining the direction of our work and what happens in the next steps.
Stage 2: Build motivation and explore the ‘whys’ in the changes you are wishing to make. We work to find ways to keep your ‘whys’ in-focus and centered during each of the next stages.
Stage 3: Build the ‘toolbox’ of wellness tools you will use to move in the direction defined in Stages 1 and 2. We don’t believe in cookie-cutter plans. We will work with you to identify tools that will help you succeed, then we will teach you how to use those tools.
Stage 4: Manage the thoughts you may have of returning to previous habits and/or unhealthy ways of coping. Notice what’s behind those thoughts and adjust the tools you are using as needed.
Stage 5: Assess how your recovery looks and feels to you. Determine if you have additional changes you want to make or find that you have reached a maintenance point.
Stage 6: Continue maintaining what you have gained.
Recovery Coaching with us is different from what you may have experienced with other organizations. We are open to all pathways to recovery and we will not define what we think your pathway should be. Instead, we walk with you as you define the pathway that works for you. From time to time, we may share our own experience and suggest tools that may be of interest. Which tools are used – and when – is always 100% up to you.
We do not require sobriety to receive our services. Sobriety is a goal for some in their recovery, while others have different measures they wish to use.
Will we hold you accountable? Yes! What accountability looks like, however, will differ person-to-person based upon individual recovery definitions and visions you develop for yourself.
